Letters from Pastor George

March 27, 2020

Dear Gold River Chapel Family,

‚Äč

As these extraordinary times continue, my prayer is that we all continue to draw closer to Jesus.  This week we continue our ONLINE SERVICE SUNDAY MORNING on our FACEBOOK page.  Our Jesus Essential series will focus on Jesus as our Provider.  He says in Matthew 6:31-33

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need

Right now, the whole world is shaken! But I am convinced that God’s purpose in all of this is that lost people would be saved. So let’s continue our work for His Kingdom and redeem the time He has given us! Paul says in Ephesians 5:15-16

15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,

16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Paul redeemed the time, even when he was in prison.  He spoke the gospel to his captors and he wrote the book of Philippians from jail. When the apostle John was exiled to the island of Patmos, he wrote the book of Revelation. When Martin Luther was exiled to an attic in an old castle for three years he translated the entire New Testament into German!

Now our Lord may not be expecting something like that from us, but He does want us to make the most of the time that we have. Start with your daily devotions, don’t shrink them, expand them. You have the time for that right now. Redeem the time. Pray more than you ever have. Pray for healing. Pray for revival. Pray for a closer walk with Jesus! Pray for your lost loved ones. Pray for the caregivers. Pray that God’s purposes will come quickly and that lost souls will be saved.

We are missing you all!!

Blessings and love to you all in the name of Jesus,

Greetings Church Family!

We want you to know that we are praying for all of you and we miss you all terribly. But God is good all the time, and we can go to Him and trust Him.

He is guiding and growing and nurturing and equipping our church in powerful ways.  We are all working hard to make sure that we get God's word out to you in as many ways as possible. So stay tuned to our Website and to our Facebook site. On our Facebook site you will find all of our video streaming sermons and I will also be sharing some devotionals with you as the Lord leads. In fact, we posted a devotional on our Facebook page this morning.

And we will be streaming our Sunday message on Facebook as we did last Sunday.  You can access our Facebook page from our Website.

This week I will be sharing a message focusing on the healing miracles of Jesus. But Jesus was more than a physical healer.  He came to save our souls.  Praise Him for that!  He came to heal us spiritually so that we may spend eternity together.

So as you watch the service this Sunday at 10 a.m., you might be praying for someone God has put in your life to watch the message either with you or separately. Let them hear the essence of Jesus... that He will heal you from the inside out.

Blessings and love to you all in the name of Jesus!

Dear Gold River Calvary Chapel Family,

As you all know by now, things are changing very rapidly as it relates to the COVID-19 situation.

We have just learned that all schools in Sacramento County, Placer County, and El Dorado County will be closed through the month of March. We have been notified by the San Juan School District that we will not be given access to the school facility until April 19.  This is just how it is, unfortunately.

So for now we will be operating as we outlined in our email yesterday. Just to reiterate our plans, we will be streaming our Sunday Service on Facebook at 10 a.m. Sunday morning.

You can access our Facebook page by going to our Website at goldriverchapel.com, or by going directly to our Facebook Page:  https://www.facebook.com/Gold-River-Calvary-Chapel-105973754292292

We ask that all of you be in prayer, for the health and well being of all in our church family and in our community and country.

God is in control.  He is going to use this for His Kingdom.

Blessings and love to you all in the name of Jesus,
